Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some of our most Frequently Asked Questions can be found here.

If you have a question that is NOT addressed here, submit our contact form below.

We take the health & safety of our customers & staff seriously. As an art studio (primarily for children), it will get messy which is why our team will be cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting during & after business hours. We love to start with a clean studio the next day.

Masks will be required. However, children under the age of 5 are not required to wear masks. While the state mandate doesn't require children under the age of 9, daycares and schools require masks under the age of 5.

If you have a medical condition, a face shield is permitted.

Tables are 6ft apart and in a clover shape. The special clover shape will increase social distancing between children. Sanitizing stations are located throughout the studio and everyone MUST wash hands or use sanitizer directly upon arrival.

Cough or sneeze elbow please instead of into hands that are using materials. If you and/or your child is ill, please stay home.
And last but not least, have fun!

Do you have more questions or concerns regarding health and safety?

How old must you be to paint?
If you can hold a paint brush, you can paint. Some of our half pints make amazing art work!

Do I have to know how to paint?
No, we prefer that you didn’t. You will be more amazed at what you can do. We do have tracing patterns that are available upon request for almost all of our designs.

Are there other options other than painting?
Yes, Mi Amor Art is more than just a painting studio!  We offer mosaics, canvas painting, clay building, sand art, spin art, board art, jewelry / beading, and acrylic pouring. We also have a Jackson Pollack inspired splatter booth and we feature a One of a Kind Black Lite Get your Glow On Canvas Paint sessions that is a unique experience.

Yes you may!  If your artwork requires additional drying time, you are welcome to leave it with us in good hands and pick up within the next few days.

Yes. We are in an outdoor strip mall. We have a big free parking lot right in front of our studio. No need to worry about feeding the meter or walking a few blocks.

What should I wear?
Wear comfy, play clothes. Some paints do NOT wash out of clothes. We are not responsible for damaged clothing. We do provide aprons and encourage everyone to use one.  We also provide full body jumpsuits for purchase.

What does "Walk In" or "Open Studio" mean?
Walk In means that you are free to walk in the studio during open studio time and create on canvas, ceramics, glass or clay. Open studio time is anytime during our normal business hours that are posted on our website or on the front window. No appointment is necessary. We do recommend that if you have a group of 6 or more people that will be doing a project that you call ahead to let us know what time you are coming. We will hold a table for you for 15 minutes. Seats are for active painters only during busy times. Please don’t be offended if we ask you to give up your seat if you are not painting. We may need your seat for a customer that wants to create something.

Do you have free WiFi?
Yes, can you guess our password?

Do I need a reservation?
No, we are open for Walk-in’s, however, we do recommend reservations to ensure we have space for you, especially if you are with a large group.

What if I want a design that you don't offer?
You are free to create any design you’d like, but if you need our help with it, custom work is done at a rate of $ 20 per hour. Custom canvas paintings are $35 for a 16 x 20 and $ 25 for a 12 x 12.

What if I can’t finish in time?
We will dry them and wrap your items, if needed, and you can bring your piece back when you are ready to finish it. A $5 returning painter fee applied.  We only store unfinished Action Art pieces to dry in the studio for you.

All food and drink must stay in the area designated. No outside food is permitted in the studio during walk in hours unless you are visiting for a scheduled party.

Can I host a private party?
Yes! Mi Amor Art is a wonderful venue for any party or event, big or small! You can reserve our party area for smaller events, or reserve our entire studio for large parties or corporate events! Your reservation includes your private party host and we can also provide a separate teacher to instruct your guests! Corporate events, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, baby showers, adult parties and more!

Do we need to wear a face mask?
During the recent NV state mandate, adults and children ages 10 and older and under the age of 2 will be required to wear face masks upon visiting.

Why is the cost so expensive?
We use materials that are very high quality. We refuse to buy anything less than quality as we want pieces of art made with us to last and be cherished for years to come. Also, instead of just paper, paints and tapes crafts which are on the more inexpensive side, we are supplying wood, canvas, beads, buttons, clays and many other quality materials artists use to create beautiful works of art. We create as artists ourselves with the same materials that are offered to all our guests.

Can my child bring in a favorite toy or stuffed animal?
We kindly ask not to bring in any outside toys or materials for sanitary reasons. We thrive in a clean uncluttered environment. We also do not want the risk of your little one losing an item and being oh so sad. Please keep all toys and stuffers home.
